Functional & Integrative Nutrition Services

Many chronic disease conditions can be greatly improved through nutrition and lifestyle changes!

What is functional and integrative nutrition?

Functional nutrition is often illustrated as a tree, showing the leaves as the symptoms of various conditions as compared to the roots. Functional nutrition aims to target the roots, not the leaves.

This means diving deep into your health history, medications, supplements, current lab values, current dietary patterns, along with your symptoms to get to the root cause and treat your condition with a highly-tailored nutrition plan. Food is medicine, and we help identify what will work for you.

what will be outlined in my personalized roadmap?

  • Dietary macronutrient recommendations with meal plan and snack ideas
  • Nutrition education specific to your condition
  • Advanced Nutritional Lab Testing
    (when applicable)
  • Lifestyle and behavior recommendations
  • Supplementation recommendations

Advanced Nutritional Lab Testing Services

The best way to identify, prevent, and treat your health issues is to understand why they're occurring in the first place. This is where nutritional lab testing comes in. Seeing where your deficiencies and imbalances lie helps us to develop highly-targeted nutrition recommendations that make a tangible difference.

Micronutrient Deficiency Test

This test provides a comprehensive nutritional analysis by measuring deficiencies at the cellular level. It is an assessment of how well the body utilizes vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants, and metabolites. Strong evidence suggests that vitamin, mineral, and antioxidant deficiencies can contribute to disease processes such as arthritis, cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and more.

Food Sensitivity Test

The MRT Inflammatory Food Panel tests your reaction to 170 foods and chemicals and is the most accurate food sensitivity panel available. This test uses more inflammatory markers than most food sensitivity tests, which only test for IgG antibodies.

MRT gives insight into inflammation-provoking foods and food chemicals. Still, more importantly, MRT identifies your BEST foods – the foods that form the basis of your LEAP Eating Plan and can provide the best outcomes in the shortest time.

Vitamin D Test

A medical professional can test your Vitamin D levels using a simple finger prick of blood. Optimal vitamin D is vital for the immune system, protecting against depression and anxiety, and reducing inflammation and oxidative stress.

NutraGenomic Tests

GX Sciences is an advanced genetic testing company that provides comprehensive Nutrigenomic testing. There are 15 panels to choose from, and the results from an individual’s DNA findings offer insights into potential health precautions, explanations for certain conditions, and advice for minimizing certain conditions.

GI Map Test

Almost every patient can benefit from a GI-MAP gut health assessment. Specific conditions that could have a link to gut health include:

  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Digestive complaints, IBD/ IBS
  • Skin problems, like acne and psoriasis
  • Mood disorders, depression, and anxiety
  • Diabetes and weight loss issues

Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones

Millions of women suffer from hormonal imbalances, which can lead to menopause, weight gain, fatigue, low libido, premenstrual symptoms (PMS), mood swings, or depression. The DUTCH Test® provides a complete assessment of sex and adrenal hormones and their metabolites in a straightforward test. The dried urine collection process is great for baseline measurements of hormones.

Omega 3 Index Test

You can have your omega-3 fatty acids tested from the comfort of your home. Omega 3 fatty acids also can improve brain health, cognitive function, mood, eye health, immune function, sports recovery, prenatal health (for mom and baby), and even longevity.

Experts believe EPA has anti-inflammatory effects that may reduce pain and swelling, which can be helpful in several areas. The omega-3 fatty acid, DHA, is essential for the brain and nervous system and can improve cognition and memory no matter your age.

Vitamin B12 at home urine test

Vitamin B12 levels can plummet as you get older if you take certain medicines or don’t consume enough vitamin B12. You can have this tested easily from the comfort of your home. The Vitamin B12 test measures a substance called methylmalonic acid (MMA) in the urine, a specific indicator of B12 status.

"It wasn't until I started working with Triangle Nutrition Therapy that I began my journey to figuring out why I was not feeling well. Tracy was able to pinpoint foods that were causing inflammation through testing and provide a clear plan forward. I would highly recommend Triangle Nutrition!"
